Mary Llewellyn radiated an inner light. As I’ve gotten to know her over the past year, I’ve seen firsthand that her light is more than just skin deep – it comes from genuine kindness and a heart for others. It’s easy to try to put Mari in a box (she’s pretty, blonde, and has 1.5 million followers on Instagram), but within five minutes of meeting her, you’ll understand how relevant life experience is. depth. Mari faced struggles and overcame challenges, and her story proves that real, lasting change is an inside job.
When Mary and her husband Greg moved to Austin last year, they were looking for a place to slow down, somewhere they might want to start a family in the near future. In addition to growing their successful supplement brand, Bloom Nutrition, Mari’s Podcast pursuit of healthtopped the health charts (one of my own weekly must-listens), and both she and Greg made Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list. But beyond her accomplishments, Mary embodies a down-to-earth female energy—she calls herself a “horse girl,” bakes sourdough, collects eggs from backyard chickens, and openly shares her dream of becoming a mother.
ICYMI, Mari is the cover girl of the latest issue of the magazine Camille style editor. In our interview, Mary shares the stories and struggles that drive her to create an inspiring, fulfilling life. Be sure to read “Heart Talk” on page 30 for key inspiration on achieving your 2025 goals. Since Mary is one of the people I know who makes the most phone calls every day, I also invited her to join our wake-up call series. Read on for Mari Llewellyn’s morning routine and how she gets her day done.
Tell us about your career and entrepreneurial experience. What is life like as an entrepreneur?
As a student, I never imagined becoming an entrepreneur. I have always been drawn to writing, art and language. In college, I studied design and marketing, but wasn’t necessarily the best student. Little did I know, my fitness journey would change everything about my life. I learned how to keep my commitments and show up for myself. My passion for health and nutrition organically turned into a business. I started posting workouts, recipes, and being honest about the ups and downs of my journey. I wanted to share my knowledge with others and my social media platform grew rapidly. I’ve cultivated a community of women who can relate to me and want products to help them on their own journeys. With the help of my (very) entrepreneurial husband, I quickly had a Shopify website selling PDF workout guides. This escalated into selling physical products like resistance bands, and we started sampling supplements, which later became Bloom Nutrition.
Life as an entrepreneur is exciting, stressful, beautiful, and lonely. It taught me a lot about partnership, leadership, courage, determination and failure. What matters is not how quickly you win, but how many times you are able to get knocked down and get back up. Bloom is truly the culmination of years of hard work, sweat, and tears. I’m very proud of the progress we’ve made, but I know there’s more to come.
What has been your biggest achievement in the past year?
My biggest learning in the past year has been establishing my own values. Over the years, all my energy has gone into our business. It was necessary at first, but now I can enjoy life outside of work. I have picked up some hobbies, such as horse riding, and have a more active social life. There are things that bring me joy and allow me to be the best version of myself at work.
In a few words, describe your personal style?
I feel like my style has many facets. If I had to label it, I’d say mine is simple, classic, sporty, with a horse girl twist. I love Kendall Jenner’s style.
