38 special Formed in Jacksonville, Florida in 1974, he became a hit music producer throughout the 1980s and 1990s. They have twelve studio albums, several of which have gone gold and platinum. Their songs have appeared in numerous television shows and movies, such as Teachers, Revenge of the Nerds II, Whip It, Super Troopers and Joe Dirt. Despite their list of accomplishments and multiple Grammy nominations, the band never won.
38 special Even though they were pop music, they were Southern rock. They consist of remaining original members Don Barnes (vocals/guitar/harmonica/mandolin) and Donnie Van Zant (assistant vocals/guitar). Downey is the younger brother of the late Ronnie Van Zant, the original singer of Lynyrd Skynyrd, and the older brother of Johnny Van Zant, the current singer of Skynyrd. Downey officially retires 38 specialironically, 39 years later.

I saw us fans huddled together on blankets and chairs on a hillside in the small town of Durham and thought, “It’s hard.”

The band continued their improvisation with “Like No Other Night”. Barnes introduced their guitarist, “Jerry RIggs is the best guy on Interstate 40 in Tennessee. He’s a guitar legend. This song is going to be trippy because it’s from a weird movie , so the beginning of the song is weird. They performed a cover of “Radar Rider,” a song originally performed by the Riggs for the 1981 adult animated film Heavy Metal. Riggs then delivers a killer guitar solo and man, this guy is awesome! He received well-deserved applause and love from the fans.
The band reunited on stage to perform “If I’d Been the One.” Don spoke to us again, “We remember, right?! It’s like yesterday, right? “Fantasy Girls” really got the audience excited. Easybeats’ cover song “Good Times” is coming soon. I’m not usually a fan of covers, but they were interested in this 1968 jaunt. Transmission system“Soldier with Attitude” is the prelude to a brilliant drum solo from Moffat, whom Barnes refers to as a “warrior.”
The main song ends with “Caught Up In You”. Fans abandon acceptable admiration and 38 special They performed three additional songs. Thunderstorm-like smoke and lightning are replaced by “chain lightning”. The smoke was so thick that the band members couldn’t be seen during half the songs. Fans were treated to another hit with “Hold On Loosely.” Barnes thanked everyone for coming and for their support over the years. The concert ended with the last cover of Credence Clearwater Revival’s “Travelin'”

38 special is a tight, synchronized group of veteran musicians that sound great, with Barnes still displaying enthusiastic showmanship. Go back and add them to your playlist. Even I forgot about the hit songs that left a mark on our youth. Their live show won’t disappoint, so get it shot and infused with Southern rock!
