Opera Ballet Vlaanderen is a dynamic, forward-thinking dance company of 35 internationally diverse dancers who push the boundaries of contemporary performance. These works are by Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, Giselle Vienne, Hofesh Shechter, Jan Martens, David Raymond and Tiffany Thiergarden, Marcos Morau, Pina Bausch, Wim Vandekeybus, etc. The company operates as a collective, non-hierarchical whole, promoting collaboration, creativity and a thoughtful balance between tradition and innovation.
The core of OBV is daily training dedicated to ballet, Countertechnique® and other methods that serve and enhance our repertoire. We prioritize building a positive, inclusive environment built on strong community, open collaboration, effective communication, and creative exploration.
We are looking for dancers with at least two years of professional experience, a strong technical foundation in ballet and contemporary techniques, and proficiency in improvisational techniques. Applicants should demonstrate strong communication skills, a collaborative spirit, and a desire to be deeply involved in creative processes ranging from highly physical to dramatic. Company members are expected to work autonomously, take care of themselves, and collaborate and create with maturity and professionalism.
