Danish Dance Theater Dancers International Auditions.
Where: Royal Opera House, Ekvipagemestervej 10, 1438 København K, Denmark, Sweden
when: December 14 to December 15, 2024
Application deadline: October 10, 2024
Dansk Danseteater, under the artistic direction of Marina Mascarell, is looking for dancers to join our company. We are a team of 12 dancers of various ages and backgrounds, each with an intrinsic role in our creative process. Dance makers and other creatives work with our ensembles on a long-term basis, creating an environment of deep collaboration and innovation with the entire DDT team. We typically have about two full-night productions per season, with variations depending on collaborations with other agencies.
What we’re looking for:
We are looking for dancers who thrive under the tutelage of diverse choreographers and enjoy being deeply involved in different practices without preconceived expectations.
The ideal candidate will:
• Have a sense of belonging in a team and show full respect for all colleagues.
• Demonstrates strong improvisational skills and the ability to explore the full range of the body’s capabilities.
• Be a patient, supportive team member and bring positive energy to the studio.
• Value collaboration and creativity and actively enhance team dynamics.
We train every morning on a different technique or exercise including ballet, modern dance, floor work, yoga, martial arts, urban style, improvisational techniques and more. If you are only interested in a single technique, see yourself only as a soloist, or lack the curiosity to explore new forms, this may not be the right opportunity for you.
At Danish Dance Theatre, no choreographer works alone; the dancers are an integral part of the creative team. We value a positive work environment and are looking for dancers who share this spirit. DDT dancers are not only performers, but also teachers and creators.
