The teen charged in the Apalachee High School shooting told police he didn’t threaten to shoot up at his former school … while his father claimed to take his son’s gun safety seriously, newly released body camera footage shows.

The Jackson County, Georgia, Sheriff released footage Monday night of an investigator’s visit Colt gray and his father Colin — In May 2023, he faced manslaughter charges in connection with four slayings at Apalachee High School.
The teen completely denied making threatening comments about his former school, telling police, “I don’t know. Maybe they heard someone else wrong. No, I swear.” He also said he had deleted his Discord account .

Investigators also spoke with the father, who said he often talks to his son about school shootings and that he was a victim of bullying.
Collin also acknowledged that there were several weapons in the house and that Colt did have access to them, but he told the deputy that the weapons were not loaded.
As for the alleged school shooting threat on social media, Colt’s father told the deputy… “I didn’t know he had that (expletive). I would go crazy if he did that. Then all the guns would be gone.” . He also has no access to them.

As we reported, the AR-style rifle police say Colt once fired into his new school was a Christmas gift from his father.
Body cameras Two days later, investigators called Gray’s home again and determined there were no possible charges against Colt.
After the father and son were evicted in 2022, they moved and Colt ended up attending Apalachee High School. Law enforcement said there is no record that Colt’s new school was alerted to the investigation into a previous shooting threat.
