Maria Georgas wants to set the record straight.
The former Bachelor suitor, a contestant on Joey Graziadei’s ABC series, found herself in the news this week after Jenn Tran ended her run on The Bachelorette.
In heartbreaking fashion.
During Tuesday night’s The Final Rose special, we learned that Tran proposed to Devin Strader a few months ago, but got engaged after Strader decided he made the wrong decision was cancelled.
“He was making a bold declaration of love and then all of a sudden the next day he was like nothing and he denied ever being in love,” Tran told Jesse Palmer on air, adding that her ex-fiancé :
“All the promises he made to me, all the love he wanted to give me were no longer there.”
In the same episode, Tran said Strider went to a New York City club after seeking space. He continued to follow Georgas on Instagram.
“Just got back from a peaceful trip,” Georgias wrote in a Sept. 4 Instagram Story in response to the drama. “It’s not something I want to go home to, but I have something to say and I won’t hesitate this time.”
One day later, Maria solved all the problems.
“Last night was hard to watch and my heart goes out to Jenn,” Maria said on TikTok. Strader allegedly broke up with Tran during a 15-minute phone call, which Devin denies. “I really think a lot of the dialogue should happen off-camera.”
Gorgas went on to say that she actually turned down an invitation to be the Bachelorette:
“I understand Jen had to say this. Say your point, girlfriend, and I respect it. I just think without the full context, it leads people to believe a different narrative.
As for the infamous Devin Strader Instagram stalker?
“Guys, I don’t care who follows me and who doesn’t. I don’t know anything about it. I don’t know until people bring it to my attention. By the time I found out, he had already unfollowed me,” Maria said.
She then spelled out her relationship (or lack thereof) with Strahd as clearly as possible, saying on social media:
“Let me clarify something. I had never met Devin before. I never went to a nightclub with him. I never looked back. I had nothing to do with the end of the relationship.
Yes, George Garth admitted that one night she went out with a group of guys that included Jeremy Simon, Tran’s other suitor this season.
She and Tran aren’t currently close, but that doesn’t mean there’s bad blood between her and the heartbroken reality star.
“Enough fighting between women,” Maria said. “The last thing I want is some weird story that pits Jenn and I against each other. Just because we’ve gone our separate ways and are no longer friends, doesn’t mean we hate each other.
“It doesn’t mean that if someone disrespects her to my face, I’m going to sit here and hold on. Because I’m not.
Strahd, for his part, argued with Tran who was trying to break up with him, and he really wanted to end the relationship himself.
But he is also responsible for unfair and inappropriate behavior.
“When we left the show, I had a lot of doubts, and unfortunately I suppressed those feelings, and I do confess that to you,” he told Tran, later adding:
“I’ve let you down…I’m sorry I took so long to tell you.”
