Olivia Plath isn’t backing down.
The veteran reality star shared a new TikTok video this week in which she takes direct aim at her ex-in-laws, strongly refuting some of the criticism she’s received following her divorce from Ethan Plath.
Specifically, Olivia had harsh words for Ethan’s parents.
“His parents boldly said, ‘Yeah, we just knew they weren’t going to make it, like there was something wrong,'” Olivia said in the clip. “Bish, you crafted and crafted this experience.” people.
“You’re the reason we don’t know each other, by the way, you groomed me to marry your son and become your family. So it’s like, you totally chose me.
Yes, Olivia used that word Modify.
This is a rather pointed and meaningful term.
The “Welcome to Plathville” cast member went on to admit that she had “no idea” who or “what” she was marrying, adding that when she exchanged vows, “I was like a child”.
There’s some context to all of this.
Olivia hasn’t spent time with anyone in Ethan’s family in a long time. They believe she was trying to drag their loved ones away from relatives… Ethan’s siblings even issued a joint statement on August 22, slamming Olivia.
“As a family, we will not stand by and watch our family be torn apart,” they wrote at the time. They not-so-subtly accused Olivia of trying to tear them apart.
The Plath family rose to fame in November 2019 when their TLC reality show premiered.
It chronicles the lives of Kim and Barry Plath as parents of nine children – Ethan, Hosanna, Micah, Moriah, Lydia, Aisa – in rural Georgia. Gram, Amber, Cassia and Messi.
This group of people were once part of a band of their own, living in a faraway place with strict rules. This includes not watching TV or drinking soda.
Such strict guidelines have posed a problem for Olivia over the years, as she usually encourages Ethan to break away from his parents and their controlling nature.
Now, Plath – who has a boyfriend – says her fundamentalist Christian upbringing was a “cult,” explaining the following:
“I grew up in a world where women were expected to live a sleepy life and let everyone around them make decisions for them.
“I would like to stay awake every day.
“Good luck getting me back to sleep. Because when you wake up and really realize what’s going on, you realize there are so many people out there who don’t have your best interests at heart, especially men.
Olivia Plath and Ethan Plath announced their decision to separate in October 2023 after five years of marriage.
“Ethan and I have decided to go our separate ways,” Olivia wrote on Instagram at the time.
“I have conflicting memories of us as 18, naively dreaming of forever – but the partner you choose reflects the world you want to live in, and at 18 I had no idea who I was or how I was living. What kind of life.
“Seven years later, I have begun a journey of questioning, deconstructing and rebuilding, a process I know I will continue to prioritize throughout my life.”
