Kamala Harris and Tim Waltz There was huge consternation on Wednesday when a motorcycle police officer in their convoy was seriously injured in a crash as their campaign rolled through Georgia.
The Democratic presidential candidate and her chosen vice president were traveling on a bus along a highway in Savannah on Wednesday night when a motorcycle police officer lost control and was crashed, but not into another vehicle.
A photo taken at the scene showed two other police officers assisting the injured officer and a pool of blood on the ground.
Media reports following the convoy said a door on the bus opened briefly and the convoy set off about three minutes later.
The officer was taken to Memorial Health University Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries, the Savannah Police Department said in a statement.
