BLACKSTONE, Nev. (CelebrityAccess) — Police have launched an investigation into the death of a woman in Blackstone. Burning Man Weekend Arts Festival.
Burning Man emergency services responded to reports of an unresponsive person on Sunday, a representative for the festival announced. Upon arrival, first responders performed life-saving measures in an attempt to revive the man, but those efforts were unsuccessful, a statement from festival organizers said.
“The safety and well-being of our employees and community is of paramount importance. We are fully cooperating with local authorities investigating this incident. The Pershing County Sheriff’s Office investigates all deaths that occur within its jurisdiction. Out of respect for the privacy of the grieving family, We will not provide further details at this time.
The Pershing County Sheriff’s Office has launched an investigation into the death, CBS News reported.
“Deputies responded to the address provided and confirmed the death of a female participant,” the sheriff said in a statement, adding that the office’s investigation into her death will continue in the meantime. An autopsy will be performed to determine the official cause and manner of her death. CBS News reached out to the Pershing County Sheriff’s Office for more information but has not yet received a response.
Burning Man 2024 will take place from Sunday, August 25, 2024 to Monday, September 2, 2024.
