The NBA star, who just led Team USA to a gold medal in basketball at the Paris Olympics, will air a surprise video message during the Democratic National Convention on Thursday endorsing Harris’ bid for president … DNC officials tell TMZ.
Curry and Harris have some connections…they hung out together this summer when Team USA was in Las Vegas preparing for the Olympics…and Steph has spent his entire NBA career playing for the Golden State Warriors, home of the San Francisco Bay team. Team area and Oakland…where Kamala was born and where she served as district attorney.
Stephen’s NBA coach, Steve Kerrpreviously speaking at this week’s Democratic National Committee in Chicago … when he mentioned his star players signature celebration as a way of spoofing Donald Trump.
Kerr, who led Currie to four NBA championships with the Warriors and is the head coach of this year’s Olympic team, had nothing but praise for Kamala and her running mate. Tim Waltzmost of his nearly 10-minute speech ended with an attack on Trump.
“In the words of the great Steph Curry,” Kerr said before placing his hand in the shape of a pillow, “we can tell Donald Trump, ‘Good night, good night!'”
It will be interesting to see what Stephen thinks of the Harris-Waltz ticket.
