Guys, that’s at last That.
After weeks of hype and speculation, Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce on Tuesday, August 20.
TMZ was the first outlet to report the anticipated news, which has finally been broken after a summer in which Affleck and Lopez were almost completely separated.
According to the aforementioned website, the actress personally filed the necessary legal documents with Los Angeles County Superior Court.
She listed the date of separation as April 26, although the filing date was actually the second anniversary of Affleck and Lopez’s grand reception for loved ones in Georgia.
Technically/legally, the estranged spouses got married on July 16, 2022, in Las Vegas.
TMZ also quoted a source as saying there was no prenuptial agreement, meaning any money the couple has made since exchanging vows is “community property” and could end up being fought over in court.
But we may be getting ahead of ourselves.
Lopez and Affleck, who originally met in 2002, got engaged more than two decades ago and planned a September 2023 wedding, which ultimately didn’t happen.
The pair first split in January 2004 and remained on friendly terms for many years as they both married other celebrities.
After Lopez split from Alex Rodriguez, she started to be seen hanging out around town with her famous ex again.
They officially launched on Instagram in July 2021 and returned to the Venice Film Festival red carpet together in the same year.
Just a few months later, Prosperitythey got engaged. again.
In May, Lopez canceled her summer “This Is Me…Now” tour, releasing a statement saying, “Jennifer is taking time to be with her children, family and close friends.”
This was the first sign that there might be trouble in the superstar’s marriage.
Since then, Alfredo has been spotted without her wedding ring multiple times… while Lopez spent her most recent birthday alone.
They also put their home on the market this summer, so it was clear the romance wouldn’t last long.
Neither party has commented on the divorce; neither party has responded to any rumors about the relationship over the past few months.
The singer and actor has twins Max and Emme, 16, with Marc Anthony, whom he was married to from 2004 to 2014.
Afo, who was married to Jennifer Garner from 2005 to 2018, has three children from his previous relationship: Violet Anne, 18, Serafina Rose, 15, and Samuel, 12.
“She’s furious,” an insider recently told Page Six. “He humiliated her because she made a fuss about him being the love of her life. He was the one who initiated the reunion.
Elsewhere, however, Entertainment Tonight previously reported the pair were on friendly terms.
“None of them want the process to be rushed,” the outlet wrote this month. “They handled the separation with as much grace, understanding and tenderness as possible.”
