COLORADO SPRINGS (CelebrityAccess) – Colorado Springs’ Ford Amphitheater officially opened this past weekend with a sold-out three-night celebration, leaving a lasting mark on the city’s vibrant music scene . The grand opening event, hosted by VENU in partnership with AEG Presents, attracted more than 24,000 attendees and provided an unforgettable experience filled with world-class performances, special recognition and spectacular pyrotechnics.
“With the overwhelming response and successful sell-out of the three performances, a republic Colorado Springs’ Ford Amphitheater opens over the weekend and will redefine the live music experience and become the future of live entertainment in the region.
A highlight of the weekend was the Mayor of Colorado Springs Yemi Mobolade Awarded the prestigious “Spring Spirit Award” Ryan Tedder and Zach Filkins. This esteemed award is given annually to recognize individuals who have made notable achievements and lifelong contributions to the city. Known for their deep ties to Colorado Springs, Ted and Filkins were praised for their continued commitment to the community and outstanding success as members of OneRepublic’s Grammy-winning band.
Mayor Mobolade expressed pride in the award, saying: “Ryan and Zach formed one of the most successful pop-rock bands of the 21st century and truly brought the spirit of Colorado Springs to the international stage. Our city is proud to be associated with their story as they inspired It’s a special night for people from all over the world to perform in the city, and it all starts in front of an audience of 8,000, enjoying the incredible sights and sounds of the new Ford Amphitheater.
Grand opening festivities kicked off on August 6 with a special soft-opening event that featured performances from the School of Rock, the Colorado Springs Philharmonic and country music stars Phil Vassar. The excitement lasted throughout the weekend magic giant OneRepublic took to the stage and delivered a powerful performance that captivated the audience. The amphitheater’s opening celebration ends each night with a dazzling fireworks display that lights up the Colorado Springs sky, capping off an unforgettable weekend.
