BOGOTA, Colombia (CelebrityAccess) — Live Nation-owned Latin concert promoter Ocesa has announced plans to create The Distrito Verde (Green Zone), a new 40,000-seat entertainment venue in Bogota, Colombia.
The event venue, which can accommodate 40,000 fans, covers an area of 24 hectares and is located in Bogota’s Ciudad Salitre, a mixed-use area in one of the city’s most high-profile areas.
According to OCESA, the new complex will host events such as food fairs and art exhibitions, as well as environmentally-themed sporting events and live concerts.
“Distrito Verde is the result of a vision for the development of Colombia’s live entertainment industry, realizing a multifunctional space that combines the environmental restoration of a piece of land with the versatility and adaptability of the space to host concerts, exhibitions and gastronomic festivals, among others Wait,” Ocesa Columbia CEO Luz Ángela Castro told La Repubblica.
For concerts, Distrito Verde will include a multifunctional event area with modular seating, as well as a large pavilion with seating for 5,800 fans for exhibitions, cultural or corporate events. Other areas of Distrito Verde include a “green space” designed to host culinary events, open-air museums and festivals.
According to OCESA, the space will also have a positive environmental impact on the area, improving 180,000 square meters of green space as well as drainage systems to regulate water volumes and reduce flooding.
“The Green District offers an innovative and multifunctional cultural offering, combining open-air green spaces with covered areas. It accommodates a variety of activity formats and allows more than 40,000 people to enjoy culture. It will activate green spaces in central areas of the city that have been idle for 50 years , protecting and restoring environmental assets and integrating them into vibrant spaces full of social, cultural and recreational opportunities,” Castro told La Repubblica.
