tom cruise full Mission: Impossible Closing Ceremony Pattern 2024 Paris Olympics A special stunt-filled appearance on Sunday symbolically handed over responsibility for the Games to Los Angeles – where the Games will be held in 2028.
Cruise, 62, who is best known for performing his own stunts in movies, impressed the world when he was knocked off the top of the Stade de France and fell from the air on a safety rope before landing on the arena stage Deeply impressed.
Cruise was greeted by athletes and cheered by fans as she walked across the stage to HER’s rock guitar accompaniment – she had also performed the national anthem not long ago.
After taking the stage, Cruise met and shook hands with Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass. Gold medalist Simone Biles.
Cruise was then presented with the Olympic flag and ran to a waiting motorcycle where he put the flag on his bike and rode out of the stadium.
From there, Cruise drove through the paired streets — that is, he did so in a pre-recorded clip that saw the actor board a plane and fly the flag to Los Angeles.
After arriving in the City of Angels, Cruise jumped out of the plane and soared over Los Angeles, flying past the Hollywood sign, which had been modified to change the two “O”s in the “wood” into two of the Olympic rings.
Cruise has long been known for performing extreme stunts in several of his action films, many of which have never been accomplished or attempted before.
Cruise spoke with ET in June 2023 while promoting in Rome Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1, he revealed The most dangerous stunt of his career — a motorcycle jump off a cliff and a BASE jump — was the first scene shot in this action movie.
“Well, we knew we were either going to make the movie or we weren’t going to make it,” laughs Cruise, who was planning the death-defying stunt. “Let us know on day one… Do we all move on, or is there a major rewrite?”
Seriously, it all comes down to focus, the actor added. “It’s been years of preparation. I mean, I’ve been riding motorcycles since I was little, racing cars, spending a lot of time doing aerobatics, airplanes, helicopters, parachutes… it all happened in that moment,” he explained.
“When you do something like this, you have to stay sharp, so it was really important when we were preparing the film that this was actually the first thing [to shoot]because I didn’t want to give up on this and go shoot other things and put my focus elsewhere,” he continued. “Everyone is ready, let’s get it done.
