Applications are now open for the 2025 Russell Page Graduate Dancer and Professional Contract Dancer positions at Bangarra Dance Theatre. Applications close on 2 September and auditions will be held on Tuesday 17 September at Bangarra Studios in Gadigal Country, Sydney’s Walsh Bay Arts Precinct.
The Russell Page Postgraduate Program provides Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander dance graduates or early career artists with the opportunity to develop into professional dancers through training and mentorship, while performing and touring as part of a dance company. This position is a paid, full-time position open to applicants between the ages of 18 and 23.
This year, the company will also hold auditions for the Professional Contract Dancer position, which is open to applicants over the age of 18.
The Russell Page graduate program was launched in 2015 and more than 20 young artists have begun their first professional collaborations with Bangarra. In the current company, 9 of the 16 dancers entered the company as Russell Page graduates.
The scheme is named after Russell Page, a proud descendant of the Nunukul people and the Munaldjali tribe of the Yugambeh nation in south-east Queensland . Russell, the younger brother of David Page and Stephen Page, was truly an artist of immense talent and his legacy is still going strong. His performance was captivating, he was inspiring as a colleague and his twelve years with the company left a mark that will never fade and will continue to inspire.
Applications close on Monday 2nd September, with studio auditions taking place on Tuesday 17th September.
