Puppy love! chris evans We spoke with ET on National Mutt Day, July 31, to explain how his dog Dodger impacts his health regimen while celebrating his relationship with Jinx.
Although fans are used to seeing Captain America: The First Avenger Evans, a star with a penchant for action roles, admits he prioritizes the nutrition of his rescue puppies over his own.
“If I’m doing a movie that requires a certain level of healthiness, then the diet will reflect that, but other than that, it’s junk food,” the 43-year-old actor shared.
“[My diet] Maybe not as good as in Jinx! ” he explained of the dog food range, which is rich in high-quality proteins, superfoods, probiotics and immune-boosting vitamins and minerals.
But when it comes to daily exercise, Evans and his pets are always on the same page.
“It’s a lot of love and a lot of exercise. Dodge lives a very active lifestyle…He’s a big part of the cardio routine. You know, he loves hiking and rollerblading. Even though he’s only 10, He didn’t lose a step! I kept waiting for his battery to start running low, but we were hiking for over an hour every day,” he noted.
Except (literally) keep spooky Dodge is a watchful actor who also contributes to Evans’ overall happiness.
“Having Dodger makes my life so much better. He’s a very special dog and I don’t think I can be in a bad mood all the time when he’s around,” he said.
“[Adopting him] It was one of the most profound experiences I’ve ever had. This is incredible luck. As soon as I saw him I knew he was coming home with me. From now on I will only rescue dogs. That’s the new approach from now on,” Evans added.
