To quote Taylor Swift, we hope Bill Maher is ready.
And by itwe mean the utter outrage of the most loyal fan base on the planet.
In the latest episode of his podcast, you’ll find the HBO host and comedian talking to Hawk Tuah Girl (real name: Haliey Welch).
Because of course he is, right?
For some reason, the conversation eventually turned to Swift’s relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
“I’m sure she’s a lovely person, but the whole football guy,” Maher said, sounding like an idiot and sounding like he didn’t know Kelce’s name.
Maher continued:
“I just feel like 35 is a little old to be like, ‘My boyfriend is a football player and I wear his jersey to games and it has his number on it!'” I mean, come on.
How dare Swift support and have fun, you know?
Thankfully, Welch defended Swift from Mach’s silly and random attack, saying simply:
“Just make her happy. If that’s what she wants to do and it makes her happy, that’s none of my business.
Mach basically agrees with this obvious point.
But he’s not done hurling insults at Swift, not yet, and he’s coming across like a complete idiot.
“But he’s going to get rid of her, you know?” March continued. “With her, it’s like Gatorade at the Super Bowl, you know you’re going to get dumped. You just don’t know when.
Wow. What a hilarious joke.
Of course, by most accounts, Kelce and Swift are closer to getting married than breaking up.
“You have to think about it this way,” Welch said, agreeing with Mach’s premise. “If he did that, can you imagine us making the next album based on that?”
Maher went on to say that Swift’s continued singing about her ex-lover was “very tacky” and suggested that it might be time for Swift to take a look in the mirror.
“This does seem to be a recurring theme,” he argued. “At some point, you just say, maybe you should write a song called ‘Maybe It’s Me.'”
Yes, Taylor Swift is that cheesy, and she got the love of a strong, good man; the love of millions around the world; and the highest-grossing tour in music history.
Will she soon add a diamond ring to the collection?
“It’s not even on his radar,” an insider recently told Us Weekly of Kelce’s proposal.
“Marriage is something he takes very seriously and he will not rush into marriage without careful consideration.”
