(Hype Bot) – More artists now have access to the Spotify countdown page for new release promotions. The Spotify Countdown page provides a pre-release destination where fans can pre-save upcoming albums, preview track listings, watch clips, purchase merch, and count down to release.
Artists with more than 5,000 monthly listeners in the past 28 days can now set up a free Spotify countdown page in their Spotify for Artists account.
As Spotify’s countdown page expands, Spotify shared some statistics:
- Fans are pre-saving albums: Over 80% of Spotify pre-saves happen the week the album is announced and the week before the album is released.
- Pre-save increases traffic: On average, nearly 70% of users who pre-saved an album played it within the first week of release.
- Clips help increase engagement: In a study of over 500 artists who used countdown pages, artists who uploaded clips to countdown pages had an average of 2x more presaves than artists who didn’t upload clips.
“The lead-up to an album release is arguably the most important time in a project’s life cycle. With this in mind, we as a company took a step back and came up with ways to help artists build momentum with fans during this time and bring the album to life. Elevated into an artistic statement.
