Kamala HarrisThe presidential campaign may have boosted ratings for “Veep” … but the show’s creator says any connection between her and the show’s lead character was not intentional.
Armando Iannucci – The man who created the 17-time Emmy Award-winning legend – was recently interviewed protector …and, he was quick to put all doubts to rest, insisting that KH did not inspire Julia Louis-Dreyfus“Selina Meyer.
He said he understands where people see the connection — a female senator is promoted to vice president and then they have to succeed the president when he steps down — but it’s just a major coincidence.
However, Iannucci explains the secret to making TV shows that seem to come straight out of a crystal ball…research, and lots of it.
Armando explained that he and the cast spent a lot of time chatting with politicians to create an authentic show… including chatting with people who worked in the vice president’s office years ago.
By the way… Iannucci said he saw shades of Vice President Meyer on the show Donald Trump He also added that he really hoped people wouldn’t think he was basing the film on Selina, the soon-to-be Democratic presidential candidate, because of her vanity and vindictiveness.
As we told you…the “Vice President” saw Ratings skyrocketed After more than 300% Joe Biden Withdrew from the presidential election and Recognize Kamala – As we noted, given Meyer’s despicable nature, this isn’t exactly a compliment.
Iannucci told The Guardian that he supports Kamala … and he seems hopeful that no one will hold Selena Meyer against her.
