First it was love, then marriage, then divorce, and Josh Hall was kicked off his HGTV show.
Well, to be fair, this is a Christina Hall franchise…but we’re getting a little ahead of ourselves.
In early July 2024, the DIY reality couple Christina and Josh announced that they were ending their marriage. If those who loved them were expecting me to have an amicable breakup, the details in the divorce papers and subsequent news proved them wrong.
Less than a week after announcing their divorce, Josh lost his job on the upcoming HGTV show alongside Christina.
This means things can start to get ugly!
Josh Hall Reportedly Leaving Upcoming HGTV Show ‘The Flip Off’
Christina Hall isn’t letting her divorce from Joshua Hall get in the way of her new HGTV series.
Christina has been making a living hosting HGTV series for years, and she’s not letting something as small as a divorce stop her from continuing.
her news program, flip closed, It is expected to premiere in 2025. She and Josh were originally scheduled to co-host, along with her first ex-husband Tarek El Moussa and his wife Heather Rae El Moussa ).
Awkward? Maybe – but it’s about to get worse, as reports suggest Josh has been kicked out. “They are producing flip closed No Josh,” a source exclusively revealed US Weekly. “They continued the show without him.”
Now, it should be mentioned that Josh at least filmed some of the episodes, as he shared clips on Instagram. His page also keeps promotional announcements. So, they may want him gone, but it doesn’t look like it will be that easy.

While the news of their breakup came as a surprise to fans, those closest to them know the decision wasn’t “sudden” as the pair “have been having issues for a while.”
What shocked everyone was the request Josh made when asking for an annulment. Citing irreconcilable differences (not always the case!), Joshua asked the court to grant him all rights to the property before tying the knot with Christina in 2022.
It seems far away, but it also seems to show that he and Christina didn’t have a prenuptial agreement.
This makes what comes next even more interesting. In his filing, Josh also asked the court to divide the joint property equally. While he listed things like their Newport Beach, Calif., home, he also listed any rights to Discovery and HGTV shows they developed, produced or contracted during their marriage.
In theory, this should include the upcoming flip closed series.
So he’s looking to get paid regardless of whether he appears on the show or not.
Christina’s next step
So what should Christina do?
Well, first of all, she wants us all to go back and recommend her to Christina Harker. (She requested that her last name be restored in her divorce filing.)
However, it’s unclear if Christina plans to compete with Josh for half of the royalties from the upcoming show. She said in the filing that she would provide the court with a separate list of her assets and debts at a later date.
So now, she has come to terms with the fact that she will be working with her first ex-husband again. But even before the divorce is finalized, it sounds like she’s more cautious about filming full-time with Josh than with Tarik.
“We’re working together, like hand in hand, to explore what this dynamic is and what it looks like,” she told us US Weekly July 2023, regarding the project with ex-husband Tarek El Moussa and his wife and her new ex Josh.
Even so, judging from her response, it seems like there are still red flags in their relationship.
“I mean, working with a spouse is never easy, so we’re just really discovering that. I’m used to having bosses who do everything, especially on the design side. This is a whole new one for us Momentum, the results will be interesting.
Oh, it’s over! Josh was kicked out! So, guess she’s really the boss?
