MONTREAL (Celebrity Access) – Canadian theater presenter Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group and German recorded music giant BMG have announced a partnership that includes collaboration on catalog management and a range of music-oriented initiatives.
Under the terms of the agreement, BMG will oversee the management of Cir du Soleil’s catalog of original scores, soundtracks and new album releases, as well as the music publishing house that will manage its productions and co-write new songs and releases.
The partnership will be led by Cirque du Soleil STUDIO, Cirque du Soleil’s new music division, which will help serve the company’s existing fans while attracting new fans to the brand.
The first release under the new partnership is the soundtrack to SONGBLAZERS, Cirque du Soleil’s latest theatrical production focused on country music and its stars.
The album was recorded at Sound Emporium Studios in Nashville and was executive produced by Grammy Award-winning producer Daniel Tashian, and features the cast and country music artists performing together/
Upcoming projects include a new Cirque du Soleil soundtrack and releases from artists and songwriters inspired by Cirque du Soleil’s work.
