More like… welcome Olivia Plath to a brand new relationship!
During an Instagram Q&A earlier this week, the longtime TLC personality confirmed this was her first relationship since splitting from husband Ethan.
On July 16, Plath told fans that her unnamed beau was “the best thing since (or before) sliced bread”:
“He even shared his chicken tenders with me, which was a true sacrifice. I’ve been in an open relationship, and they presented unique challenges, so I kept a low profile on the matter.
Alongside the message, Olivia also covered her boyfriend’s face.
But she noted that she and the would-be hunk are both keen to “make a lot of memories and learn a lot along the way.”
Olivia answered fan questions on the Welcome to Plathville season 6 premiere, which aired just months after she and Ethan announced they were ending their marriage.
“Ethan and I have decided to go our separate ways,” Olivia wrote in a rather cold statement shared on October 27.
“I have conflicting memories of us as 18, naively dreaming of forever – but the partner you choose reflects the world you want to live in, and at 18 I had no idea who I was or how I was living. What kind of life.
“Seven years later, I have begun a journey of questioning, deconstructing and rebuilding, a process I know I will continue to prioritize throughout my life.”
As for Ethan?
“When we first got married, we were pretty much on the same page. Political beliefs, religious beliefs, now we’re on opposite ends of the book,” Ethan explained on the family’s reality show in October 2023.
In a subsequent confessional, the reality star admitted that he felt like he and Olivia were “drifting apart on some fundamental issues.”
It’s no secret that the latter has been urging the former to distance himself from the conservative family for years.
There are rumors that Olivia also cheated on Ethan, but there is no evidence to support this speculation.
Last fall, Ethan wrote on Instagram:
“Olivia and I have gone our separate ways. Even though God knows we both gave everything we had, our relationship just wasn’t working.
“We always seem to have different goals, constantly pulling each other in opposite directions in life.
“I wish Olivia the best for the future. I care deeply about her and always will.
