(CelebrityAccess) — Multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter Rich Kotzen Signed a new label deal with BMG.
“After working with Richie on the successful Smith/Kotzen project, we know what an incredible songwriter and artist he is, so we’re excited to hear about him as a solo artist,” said BMG Senior Vice President Michael Kachko ’s work. When he played us new material, we knew immediately we wanted to be a part of it.
“I was very happy to hear that BMG wanted to release this album, which, as I envisioned, would not be artistically compromised,” said Richie Kotzen. “I love that the BMG team creatively trusts me and my vision without having to reinvent the wheel. A lot of times, business side things do interfere with the creative progress of writers and teams like this,” Kotzen continued, “The point is that we can do Something to help you move beyond what you’ve already done as a writer. Their attitude seems to be, “You’ve done your job as a writer, as a producer, as a musician, now let’s take the ball.” For me, this felt like the beginning of an amazing journey and a reset in an industry that was becoming increasingly complex for a lone artist.
The deal comes after Kotzen announced the release of his next studio album, Nomad, which is set to be released on September 27 on BMG.
In addition, Kotzen is also preparing to embark on a North American tour, which will kick off on September 13th at The Coach House in San Juan Capistrano, California, and end on November 2nd at the Granada Theater in Dallas.
