“light is on”
Fenne Lily is a singer and songwriter from Dorset, England. She released her first album in 2018, but I didn’t find her music until 2023 when she released her third album, The big picture. The album she released in between these two albums was a bit lost during lockdown as all her touring plans were cancelled. All of this feeds into the story she tells in this episode about making the song “Lights Light Up” from her third album. I spoke with Fenne in front of a live audience at WBUR CitySpace in Boston. Next, you’ll hear how the song evolved in different versions of the demo before she recorded it in the studio with Grammy-nominated producer Brad Cook.
