Last month, Jason Duggar introduced his new girlfriend to the world in an unexpected way.
He shared a photo of himself and his partner on the beach.
But he never revealed the woman’s name or even showed her face.
It’s surprising, and some fans really don’t know what to make of this false reveal.
But what is certain is that Jason’s parents prefer That Posted to a post he shared earlier this week.
Did Jason Duggar break his family’s courtship rules?
If you’ve been following The Jetsons for a while, you’re probably familiar with the infamous Duggar courtship rules.
These are the guidelines Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar set out to ban their children from any form of premarital physical contact.
These rules go far beyond prohibiting premarital sex.
In fact, the unmarried Duggars are prohibited from engaging in “frontal hugs” or even holding hands for more than a few seconds.
So when Jason posted a photo of him and girlfriend Maddie Grace riding each other, his fans were shocked.
To our knowledge, there are no specific rules prohibiting such shipments.
But considering single Duggars aren’t even allowed to go on unaccompanied dates, we’re guessing piggyback rides can no Get Jim Bob’s seal of approval.
Many pointed out that Maddie’s shorts, which ended several inches above her knees, also violated Duggar’s dress code.
(Duggar women are required to dress “modestly” at all times—usually floor-length skirts.)
One Reddit user even layered a skirt over Maddie’s legs.
“I found the photo of Jason and his girlfriend a little too revealing, so I retouched it to look like Jana,” the Reddit user joked.
Jason’s new relationship
Well, now we know her name and we see her face. But beyond that, we know very little about Maddie Grace.
“Celebrating the 4th with my girl,” Jason captioned the photo carousel.
While there were some jokes about Duggar’s clothing requirements and courtship rules, most of the comments were supportive.
“So happy for you, Jess. You two are so cute. Thanks for sharing,” one fan wrote.
“You are the cutest!” Another one was added.
Jason’s parents may have had some misgivings about the relationship.
But it sounds like he and Maddie are getting all the support they need from fans!
