(VIP-News) – Legendary British promoter Barrie Marshall, chairman and founder of Marshall Arts, has been voted unanimously by association members in recognition of his outstanding commitment and contribution to the UK live music and entertainment scene.
Marshall founded Marshall Arts in 1976 and has collaborated with P!NK since 2002 and Paul McCartney since the 1989/90 World Tour, and has promoted many iconic artists including Elton John, George Michael, Tina Turner, Taylor Swift, Celine Dion, Cher, Whitney Houston, Lionel Richie, Sade, Joe Cocker, Stevie Wonder, Eurythmics, Rod Stewart, Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, Al Jarreau, Bryan Adams, Bon Jovi, the Spice Girls, Amitabh Bachchan, The Highwaymen, The Moody Blues and John Denver all had illustrious 45-year careers.

My first arena show was with the Commodores at Wembley in 1979 – I was “interviewed” by the arena manager, Mr John Evans. ” to ensure our company was suitable and honorable enough to hire the venue! We spent a very memorable week with Stevie at “Wonder At Wembley” in 1980 – we have been very privileged to have worked on so many venues over the decades Working on a big stage with so many talented artists and other promoters is a real privilege that I’m so grateful for, Barry Marshall, Marshall Arts.

Since 2009, the NAA Outstanding Contribution Award has been selected and presented annually by NAA members to recognize those who have made outstanding contributions to their venues and/or industry at that time. The National Arena Association brings together the arena network across the UK and Ireland to promote best practice and knowledge sharing among its members. The Association was established in 1991 as a forum for managers of event and concert venues with seating capacities of at least for 5,000 people.
