LeBron James Says his son is ready for the NBA… Revealed this week Bronny James Not caring at all about the opinions of his enemies.
In fact, the Lakers superstar said in a statement sit down for interview This weekend, his teenage boys were “dismissive” of any outside noise from ESPN.
“He didn’t,” said Lyndon Johnson. “Brownie plays. He works his ass off. When he comes home, he plays video games.”
Of course, criticism of the young James has grown exponentially over the past few days after the Lakers selected him with the 55th overall pick in the NBA Draft.
Many people cried foul about nepotism and dismissed his tactics outright. And after scoring four points (2-for-9 shooting) in his Summer League debut on Saturday, the buzz hasn’t waned at all.
But according to LeBron, none of this affects his son — who is nothing like his father in that regard.
“When I came in, I actually kind of cared,” LeBron said. “I want people to like me. Early in my career, some of the things people thought about me bothered me. I let it get to me.”
“He doesn’t care about anybody’s — he doesn’t even listen to that stuff,” LeBron continued. “He’s the complete opposite of his dad. His dad would leave something behind. Brownie doesn’t care.”
LeBron went on to praise Bronny for being motivated to get to this point in his career because, as he put it, the former USC star had “all the options in the world” due to circumstances at home.
“I had no choice,” Lyndon Johnson explained. “I have to make a life for myself. My mom, my family, my hometown, my city.”
Bronny did not play in the Lakers’ second summer league game on Sunday because of knee soreness. It’s unclear whether he will play in the team’s third game when Los Angeles takes on the Miami Heat.
