Shirley Papini Breaking her long silence, she shared the story of her infamous kidnapping scam.

As investigators continued to look into Shirley’s claims, they uncovered evidence that she was not kidnapped. Keith Shirley filed for divorce shortly after pleading guilty. He noted that they had “irreconcilable differences” after 12 years of marriage and asked for sole custody of their two children.
September 2022, Shirley was sentenced to 18 months in prison and ordered to pay $300,000 in restitution to the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office, $148,866 to the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office, and $2,558 to the FBI. she finally Less than one year in prison.
The as-yet-untitled documentary series “will provide unprecedented access to archival footage, legal documents and court documents, as well as extensive interviews with people close to Papini and the investigation – providing new insights into the issues,” the investigation found.
