NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) — Abramorama, a distributor of event cinema, theatrical distribution, marketing and non-fiction and music film sales, announces the acquisition of the theatrical distribution rights to the feature-length documentary “Electric Lady Studios: A Jimi Hendrix Vision from Experience” by Hendrix LLC
Electric Lady Studio: Visions of Jimi Hendrix documents the transformation of a bankrupt Manhattan nightclub into a state-of-the-art recording studio that would serve as the legendary Jimi Hendrix’s permanent recording studio.
Inspired by the design of the short-lived Greenwich Village nightclub Cerebrum, Hendrix and his manager Michael Jeffery worked to transform the former club into a “participatory electric studio,” but after securing the lease , they set their sights on opening their own nightclub, and Hendrix turned to creating a commercial studio in the space.
The documentary includes previously unreleased footage and photos, as well as track details of classic Hendrix songs such as “Freedom,” “Angel” and “Dolly Dagger” written by recording engineer Eddie Kramer “, Eddie Kramer won an Emmy Award for his work in the film Jimi Hendrix: Hear My Train Coming.
Abramorama is no stranger to the world of Hendrix documentaries, having previously produced “Electric Church” and 2022’s Grammy-nominated “Music, Money, Madness: Jimi Hendrix Live in Maui” .
