Oprah Winfrey Said she once didn’t go to a star-studded Christmas party because she felt “too fat” to show up.
The media mogul opened up about her health journey on Tuesday’s premiere episode of “The Jamie Kern Lima Show” … recalling a time when she felt held back by public perception of her weight.
Oprah said that in 1988, she was invited to Don Johnson‘s Christmas party… was a big deal for her at the time because he was starring in the hit TV show “Miami Vice.”
She said the invitation came just as she was regaining the weight she had lost on a liquid diet… At 157 pounds, she felt “too fat” to go out and socialize.
Oprah lost 67 pounds and hyped it up on her show…she’s been known to push a wagon full of fat to show how much weight she’s lost.
But once she started eating solid food again, she said, the weight came back on her quickly.
O said that in 1988, she gained 10 pounds in a week, and by December she was too embarrassed to show up at Hollywood events…such as Don’s holiday party.
Oprah also recalled being the butt of fat jokes for 25 years… and she said one of the most hurtful bits happened on “In Living Color.”
