We’ve officially passed the auditions for this season of So You Think You Can Dance, but that doesn’t mean the hard part is over. The 35 dancers who passed the audition must now face the real test: the choreography session.
Normally, this round might last a few days to eliminate groups, but this year everything is different. Alison Holker revealed that this season’s choreography rounds only lasted for one day, and 35 turned into 10!

First cut: from 35 to 16

After the first two couples performed for the judges, Maksim Chmerkovskiy said he was frustrated that there weren’t enough pairs to work with, resulting in a lack of emotional connection between the dancers. But Allison disagreed, saying the dancers “ruined it.”
The second and third sets performed well, although the judges did express some concerns that Jerlin’s choreography seemed unnatural, with Jerlin admitting in the first round that he had not had extensive jazz or jazz training. Struggling. In the final set, Roman seemed to be in trouble, with Allison saying he wasn’t as “stable” as she’d hoped.
Once all 16 dancers had their chance to perform, it was time for deliberation. Cat gathered the top eight dancers to hear their results, and the result was a landslide victory –all Eight people finished in the top ten.

But in this season of “SYTYCD,” there’s always another twist, and in this case, there are actually two twists. First, it was announced for the first time onceDuring the competition, all 10 dancers will not only dance together, but also live together.
