“My life is a dance,” says dancer, therapist and teacher Bianca, Italy, “How do I stage this every day?” She knows from personal experience with trauma, healing, and creativity that body and soul are connected. In this talk, intended to inspire other artists, teachers, caregivers and anyone else, Italy cites what she has learned through massage, acupuncture, herbal medicine, spiritual practices and the use of sensory deprivation tanks.

Bianca, Italy is a sacred multimedia artist and herbalist dedicated to serving and inspiring the collective. Originally from South Carolina and based in Brooklyn, New York, Italy believes that dance can aid in the transformation and healing of our individual and collective trauma; and aspires to provide the gift of transformative healing through community arts. Her work focuses on collaborating with other local dancers and musicians to create works that depict the most primal human experiences. She has worked with various dancers and companies in New York City such as Aeternus Dance Company, Asha Dance Company, Fiyah Dancehall Theatre, Sydnie L. Mosley Dances and Marguerite Hemmings. In 2017, Italy was nominated for a Bessie Award for Outstanding Performer and starred in Crystal Water’s “Chategory” I am House Video in 2018. https://www.italybianca.com/
