Justin Timberlake has broken his silence on his recent arrest.
The veteran singer was detained just after midnight on June 18 after he allegedly ran a stop sign while hanging out with friends at a hotel in Sag Harbor, New York.
Timberlake refused to submit to a sobriety test at the scene and was charged with one count of driving while intoxicated and two citations, one for running a stop sign and one for failure to maintain lane, according to the arresting officer.
He will appear in court for a hearing on July 26.

On June 19, attorney Edward Burke Jr. issued the following statement:
“Mr. Burke looks forward to vigorously defending Mr. Timberlake against these charges. He will have much to say in due course. He is currently awaiting the results of a full investigation by the District Attorney’s Office.”
Thankfully, no one was injured in this week’s incident, and Sag Harbor police released a statement following the arrest:
At 12:37 a.m. on June 18, 2024, Justin R. Timberlake, 43, of Tennessee, was spotted driving a 2025 BMW southbound on Madison Street and failed to officially post Stopped at a stop sign and failed to maintain his lane.
An officer from the Sag Harbor Village Police Department initiated a traffic stop, and an investigation determined that Mr. Timberlake was operating the vehicle while intoxicated.
After an officer initiated a traffic stop, authorities noted that Timberlake’s “eyes were bloodshot and glassy, there was a strong odor of alcohol on his breath, he was unable to concentrate, his speech was slowed, his steps were unsteady, and he Performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests.
Timberlake was later released without paying bail.
The singer is scheduled to take the stage again on June 21 in Chicago for the next stop on his Forget Tomorrow world tour, which will continue to New York and Boston later this month.
According to TMZ, he has no plans to go to rehab or take any “active” steps to address any of his alleged alcohol issues.
Amid the controversy, Timberlake simply plans to continue his tour.
