DESSEL, Belgium (CelebrityAccess) – Organizers of the Graspop Metal Meeting say the festival’s emergency weather plan has been activated after heavy rain flooded the festival grounds just one day before its scheduled opening date.
In a statement released on Monday, festival organizers announced a series of changes to the festival, including the cancellation of all Wednesday night shows, including the Boneyard Pre-party hosted by Brussels Studios.
In addition, organizers said parking lots around the festival remained closed during the festival weekend due to rain.
Rainfall has also affected the festival’s Boneyard campsite, which will render it partially unusable.
“We advise day visitors not to [The Boneyard campsite] Go home tonight,” Graspop organizers announced.
However, festival organizers insist the rest of the festival site is suitable for the busy weekend ahead.
“The festival grounds are in excellent condition. The Graspop Metal Conference organization is ready to go all out in 4 days! We thank everyone for their understanding during this unpredictable situation.
