Boeing CEO Dave Calhoun Under grilling on Capitol Hill this week … he just admitted that the aerospace giant has a history of retaliating against whistleblowers.
The Boeing boss was in Washington on Tuesday – as he attended a U.S. Senate hearing aimed at addressing all of Boeing’s recent problems – where he was asked point-blank about whistleblowers speaking truth to power… acknowledging a fact about retaliation occur.
When asked if Boeing had fired any employees responsible for retaliation, Calhoun couldn’t give any specific numbers … but said retaliation was Boeing’s business and people were fired as a result. He agreed senator Blumenthal to learn more about his specific situation.
This is very important testimony given what has happened to some whistleblowers in recent months.
As we report…Boeing whistleblower John Barnett Died back in March The apparent suicide came while he was testifying in a lawsuit against the company – something his lawyers were highly suspicious of when it happened.

Calhoun doesn’t say the deaths in these events were related or the result of revenge, but it’s still interesting. Looking at the bigger picture, he acknowledged that Boeing has a history of trying to silence people in its own ranks who point out problems with the planes.

The Boeing CEO also apologized to those in the room affected by the company’s safety issues, including family members killed in the crashes.
It’s been an eventful day today…it sounds like Boeing is under pressure to make changes.
