The Chrisley family appears to be facing more legal trouble.
Kyle Chrisley, whose father is serving time in prison for various types of financial fraud, was arrested on Sept. 9 and charged with aggravated assault and resisting arrest.
We can now also confirm new details about the incident.
According to a police report from the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office, the 33-year-old man, who Todd Chrisley lives with his ex-wife Theresa, and his wife got into an argument with a mechanic over money.
After the man confronted them about the incident and their house, Kyle claimed the mechanic hit his wife’s parked car… drove down the street… then came back and started taunting Chrisley.
The mechanic claimed he just knocked on Kyle’s door and Kyle ended up stabbing him in the arm.
A court hearing was scheduled for December to determine what happened and what happens next, but Kyle posted a photo on social media of police officers pinning him to the ground and handcuffing him.
“So let me get this straight. A man has been threatening me for months, trying to extort money from me, saying he would destroy me if I didn’t pay. He also threatened my children, my wife, telling me He would destroy my truck, come to my house and attack me, try to extort money from me, threaten me,” he wrote on Instagram.
“Am I not allowed to defend myself and my property? Then he deliberately rammed my wife’s car, screaming ‘I’ll be back, I got you.
Chrisley hasn’t stopped defending himself.
“Maybe it’s because of my last name. I’ve heard that Rutherford County likes to make a name for itself, and I think they saw this as an opportunity to do that,” Kyle also told Us Weekly.
“I also think it would be easy for this man to make up a story because he knew that a similar alleged incident had happened to me, especially when he knew he had just come to my house, caused property damage, and openly stated his intention to run him over with his car. It’s my time.
In March 2023, Kyle was also booked for “felony aggravated assault” and was released after paying $3,000 bail.
However, prosecutors dismissed the charges before trial.
Chrisley previously lost custody of her daughter Chloe, who was adopted by Todd and Julie in 2016, due to drug addiction and other sensitive personal issues.
“I’ve never been good at talking about my struggles, but lately I’ve seen a lot of people hurt…so I’m sharing my story in the hope that I can help one person see the other side of pain,” Kyle said via Instagram , December 2022.
