According to law enforcement sources, they say the person who brought the AK-47-style weapon to the stadium was Ryan Wesley Rouse — one 58-year-old man from Hawaii.
Routh’s social media is filled with pro-Ukrainian posts… and there’s a YouTube video of Routh talking about why he left the U.S. to go to Kiev to help fight back against the Russians.
For months, Rouse posted about politics… many times involving Ukraine, but also expressing support for Taiwan. CNN reported that he had been arrested multiple times.
As you know … law enforcement officials say the suspect — Rouse — Come to the golf course Carrying an AK-47 style weapon, two backpacks and a GoPro.
The alleged assassination attempt was frustrated when a Secret Service agent spotted the rifle through a fence and engaged Routh.
It’s unclear whether Rouse fired a gun…however, we do know he fled the scene in an SUV and was taken into custody by local law enforcement.
He has not yet been formally charged … although prosecutors have said they expect both state and federal charges to be filed.
