Sister Wives 18 Recap and Summary: The Most Shocking Moments
When Kody separated from Kristen and Janelle, things were bad from the start.
By episode three, Janelle and Cody are fighting each other. She accused him of “gaslighting” her, and Kody accused her of turning their children against him. A fight over Christmas ended with Cody storming off, vowing to cut Jenelle out of his life forever.
The two have rarely been together since, but Jenelle has an ally in Kristen, whose marriage to Kody ended a year ago.
Speaking of Christine, she embarks on a journey to find “Kody’s opposite” this season. She’s back on the dating scene for the first time in decades. Initially, she sought the help of a matchmaker before venturing into online dating. There, she met David Wooley, whom fans officially met at the end of the season and then met more extensively in the two-part wedding special.
Then there’s Meri. It’s been clear that her relationship with Cody over the years has been non-existent, to say the least. At the start of the season, Meri is dealing with the death of her mother while also figuring out what she wants to do next. She has her own clothing business and now she owns the B&B that her mother left her.
That’s when things got out of hand.

After learning that Cody was ready to end their marriage, Meri began making plans to leave and move to Utah and live in her mother’s B&B. But Robin tries to convince her to stay.
In fact, Robin hopes Meri will stick around so she can have an ally herself. Robin notes that Cody is “different”
“I didn’t feel stable with him,” she said at one point.
But in the season finale, her attempt to save Meri and Cody’s marriage failed. The two came face to face on camera, but Cody wouldn’t say all the things he said to Meri privately.
“You want something we can’t have together,” Cody said to Meri, as Robin looked at her through tears, knowing that she was about to lose the last of her sisters.
Cody said they were “friends away from home,” but as fans know, that didn’t happen.
