‘The Bachelorette’ premiere date and premise
Season 1 golden bachelorette The 2-hour episode will premiere on Wednesday, September 18 at 8pm ET, with new episodes arriving every Wednesday.
ABC said of the upcoming season: “For the first time in The Bachelor franchise history, 24 experienced men in their prime will roll up their sleeves and step into the spotlight, all aiming to give Bachelorette Joan Vassos leaves a lasting impression.
“The men vying for her final rose have experienced the highs and lows of love, their moments of joy and heartbreak, and they arrive with anticipation, eager to build a connection that inspires a future of endless possibility.”
Who is Joan Vassos?
If you’re a member of Bachelor Nation, you know all about Joan Vassos’ story.
Vasos, 61, a private school administrator from Rockville, Maryland, appeared on the inaugural “Bachelor” to compete for Gerry Turner’s heart.
Joan committed suicide due to her daughter’s health problems. During her time on the show, it was clear how important her family was to her. Among them was her late husband John.
After 32 years of marriage, John died of pancreatic cancer. “He is a husband who always makes me feel safe and cherished,” the newest bachelorette wrote on Instagram in January.

According to spoiler master Reality Steve, Joan’s final four will consist of the following suitors:
Chock Chapple, 60, an insurance executive from Wichita, Kansas; Guy Gansert, 66, an emergency room physician from Reno, Nevada; Jordan Heller, 61, a sales manager from Chicago; Pascal Ibuki Pascal Ibgui, 69, also from Chicago, is a salon owner.
Only Jock, Guy and Pascal can advance to the Fantasy Suite round.
Steve said Joan would only have two overnight dates during the biggest moments of the game. And she’s still in a relationship (no pun intended) with one of the men!
Yes, Joan may soon be the Doctor’s Wife, and she reportedly handed her final rose to Guy Gansett as she wrapped up her season.
But while the couple may have found love, they don’t seem to be in a hurry to get to the altar.
Are Joan Vassos and Guy Gansert engaged?
While Steve was able to confirm that Joan and Guy are still together, there’s no word yet on whether they’re engaged. For fans familiar with Joan’s views on moving too fast, this won’t be too shocking.
“I probably wouldn’t get married right away — and not just because of what happened with Gerry and Theresa,” Joan recently explained to CNN.
“I think it takes some time to really get to know someone. In the wild, in the real world, you need to spend some time there.
“If we end up getting engaged, I’m open to that. I do believe the process works. I’ve seen it work for a lot of couples on ‘The Bachelor,’ so I trust the process,” Joan added.
“It would be great if we ended up getting engaged. If it worked out and you and I could get to know each other better in the outside world, that would be perfect too.
Yes, Gerry and Theresa’s quick divorce seems to have left Joan a little uneasy about the prospect of walking down the aisle.
