Taylor Swift is getting ready for a big night at the 2024 VMA Awards.
She leads the race with 10 nominations, and if she wins 7 or more of them, she’ll take a very important title away from Beyoncé.
With a strong line-up of performers (many of whom are friends of Taylor’s), there’s a good chance she’ll appear this year.
What’s more, fans should have high expectations because Taylor may be making a big announcement on the show, too!

There she is! In all her glory, autumn colors, covered in…leather? Nothing feels better than a red/reputation crossover!
She was of course the last one to hit the carpet, but she made it in time to dance to Eminem’s opening act.
Now, no one has confirmed she will be there tonight. But honestly, they don’t need to. There’s zero chance Taylor misses the big night.
Taylor wrapped up the international leg of her Eras tour in August, and her last North American dates aren’t until October.
With touring on hold, Taylor has a full month to relax and have a free night to enjoy this year’s celebration of incredible visual work.
It’s also a night where she can hang out with friends! Also set to perform is Sabrina Carpenter, one of Taylor’s close friends and an opening act on the Eras tour. Halsey is a friend and a major Swiftie; Lenny Kravtiz, Zoe Kravtiz’s dad, is also members of the team.
Lest we forget Katy Perry, Taylor’s former frenemy. She’s about to receive a Vanguard Award, and it would be a godsend if Swift could present it to her in person!
But there’s another reason Taylor will definitely attend the VMAs.

Swift leads the VMA nominations list with 10 (eight of them) for her “Fortnightly” music video, and is nominated in the Entertainer of the Year and Best Pop categories.
Last year, she had nine wins and a total of 23 Moon Man trophies.
Currently, Beyoncé is the winner with the most 30 VMA trophies. Now, Bey is up for just one award on the show – Song of the Year for “Poker” – and she has a good chance of winning.
So Taylor may find herself unable to close the gap, but there’s no doubt her numbers will still increase.
Will Travis Kelce join her at the VMAs?
In more than a year of dating, Taylor and Travis have yet to attend a red carpet event together. Scheduling is often the culprit: a world divided between balls and Aristotle.
