The adrenal cocktail focuses on three nutrients: vitamin C, sodium and potassium. These are all key to maintaining adrenal health. All three also help maintain hormonal stability, proper hydration, and electrolyte balance.
Basically, the adrenal cocktail helps replenish the body’s adrenal glands. Because of this, it helps fight fatigue. Typically, adrenaline cocktail recipes include fresh orange juice, coconut water, and sea salt. However, the sky is the limit. You can also add cream of tartar (for potassium), collagen powder (for protein and joint health), magnesium powder (for regularity), and canned coconut cream (for blood sugar).

The Adrenal Cocktail starts with fresh orange juice. (Lemon or grapefruit will work too!) This serves two main purposes: Orange juice is rich in vitamin C and is a source of energy from simple carbohydrates. When you’re stressed, your adrenal glands use more vitamin C than usual. Otherwise, you can use it instead of aloe vera juice!

The Best Time of Day to Drink an Adrenal Cocktail
Most of my clients prefer to drink their adrenaline cocktail around ten in the morning. That said, it can also serve as an afternoon pick-me-up. Energy levels tend to drop between 10am and 11am and 2pm and 3pm, so these two periods (where you’d usually have a cup of coffee or a handful of sugar) are ideal times.
If you suffer from insomnia at 3 a.m. (which may be the result of daytime blood sugar issues), you can also try an Adrenal Cocktail as a bedtime snack. Otherwise, it makes for an energizing pre-workout snack! Last but not least, try this as a light breakfast, especially if you wake up and find yourself not hungry. This powerful elixir will kick-start your metabolism.
If you have prediabetes or diabetes, talk to your doctor before taking Adrenal Cocktail. If you have blood sugar management issues, it’s best to drink it soon after a meal rather than between meals. Drinking it about 10-15 minutes after a meal can help slow blood sugar spikes.

Sparkling Adrenal Cocktail
- 1/2 cup Orange juice, no sugar added
- 1 cup pure coconut water
- 1/2 cup soda
- juice 1/2 lemon
- 1/4 teaspoon Pink Himalayan sea salt (or sea salt of choice, just don’t use sea salt flakes)
Fresh Squeezed Adrenal Cocktail
- Place all ingredients into a blender. Puree until smooth.
- Pour into a glass and serve immediately. Serve over ice if desired.
- Extra servings can be refrigerated overnight, just shake well before serving. Adding a spoonful of protein powder helps balance the natural sugars in the coconut water and orange.
