Winona Ryder is the envy of the world as she talks about her ‘husband’.
More than a decade ago, Winona Ryder confirmed Beetlejuice sequel. Now, it’s finally here.
While promoting Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Winona was discussing another one of her classic movies: the iconic 1992 Dracula played by Bram Stoker With Keanu Reeves.
Part of the film’s legacy is that she called Keanu “husband” and Keanu called her “wife.”
Winona Ryder is the “husband” the world envies
Before you say “What’s the big deal?” we all Calling Keanu Reeves our “husband” keeps two things in mind:
First, Winona Ryder said it in Keanu’s text message, not whispered it on her screen. Second, he also calls her “wife.”
As you can see for yourself in the video below, Winona Ryder spoke happy sad confused podcast and reflected on her decades-long “marriage” to Keanu.
“We’ll text,” Winona Ryder confirmed about her relationship with her “husband” Keanu Reeves.
“We always say who it is,” she added. “Despite what the text says.”
Although neither of the beloved actors is old enough to explain such an awkward texting habit (unless you’re a Keanu Reeves is immortal To be honest), they are a bit hesitant when it comes to many technologies. This quirkiness fits the overall vibe of both actors.
“Happy birthday, my husband!”
Recalling the time she wished him a happy birthday, Winona Ryder shared, “I was like, ‘Happy birthday, my husband!'”
She continued: “He was like, ‘Hey wife! Love you! KR, 57. He’s the best.
We can admit that if this were a story about a less likable person, this might sound cringe-worthy. Instead, it’s about two beloved entertainment icons, and it couldn’t be cuter.
To be clear, Winona Ryder and Keanu Reeves have never dated in real life. However, more than thirty years ago, they both starred in Bram Stoker’s “Dracula.”
Dracula played by Bram Stoker is an amazing adaptation of the novel. In fact, it’s an adaptation so erotic that it would have been unlikely to have been filmed in today’s deeply prudish film culture. (Public condemnation of sexuality is a major canary in the coal mine for the rise of fascism, so this is a bit more serious than it sounds)
In the movie, Keanu and Winona’s characters, Jonathan Harker and Mina Harker (respectively), get married. Because the fictional wedding was officiated by a real Romanian priest, the two later joked that they were married.
they are not actually married
Although Winona Ryder has joked in the past that saying “yes” means they’re actually married, it’s hard to find a religious institution or legal system that would make filming a fake wedding for a movie legally or spiritually binding.
(Can you imagine if this were the case? The movie would have to dance around the wedding scene, just like the old TV show had to avoid “Happy Birthday”)
However, it’s so cute to see two of the cutest actors of the last century having such an endearing rapport.
