HADDEN, Conn. (CelebrityAccess) — American rapper, hypeman and radio personality Isaac Freeman III, better known by his stage name, Fat Scoopdied after collapsing on stage during a show in Connecticut. He is 53 years old.
The rapper suffered a medical emergency on August 30 while performing at a music festival in Hamden, Connecticut. He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, where he later died.
Spoon’s tour manager confirmed his death on social media but did not provide any other details about the cause of death.
Known for his powerful voice and collaborations with artists such as Missy Elliot and Mariah Carey, Scoop first rose to fame in 2003 when his single “Be Faithful”, first released in 1999, hit the UK charts.
He continues to work with artists such as Lil Jon, Janet Jackson and Skrillix.
In addition to his work as a musician, he has appeared on the British television series Chancers, where he mentored aspiring musicians, and was a contestant on the reality show Celebrity Big Brother 16: UK vs. Eliminated from the competition.
In 2024, he collaborated with Tech N9ne on the single “No Popcorn” and released two new singles on August 30 (the day of his death).
