As if being stuck in space for the foreseeable future wasn’t enough… an astronaut trapped aboard the International Space Station just sent NASA audio of an ominous noise coming from their malfunctioning Boeing Starliner.
Report first in the news technical artastronaut Butch Wilmore Communications can be heard with Johnson Space Center in Houston… telling mission control, “I have a question about Starliner. There’s a strange sound coming from the speaker… I don’t know what’s coming from it.”
Mission Control configured a way for Butch to play a voice through the phone… After one failed attempt to hear the voice, Mission Control confirmed, “Butch, that voice is coming through. It’s kind of like a pulsing Noise, almost like sonar pulses.
The recording was first captured and shared by a Michigan meteorologist Rob Dale.
Butch played the audio again, telling NASA, “I’m going to play it again and leave you all scratching your heads and see if you can figure out what’s going on.”
Houston confirmed they would pass on the recording and let Butch know what they found.
As we previously reported… Wilmore and fellow astronauts sonny williams Trapped Since June 6, he has been stuck on the International Space Station for a week due to a thruster failure and a helium leak in the Starliner.

Starliner plans to detach from the International Space Station and attempt to return to Earth on autopilot.
As for Butch and Suny…the two are now set to return to Earth in February 2025 – hitching a ride on one of them Muskof SpaceX spacecraft.
