Pearsall, 23, was reportedly shot in the arm around 3:30 p.m. and is currently in stable condition at a local hospital.

The alleged shooter was captured at the scene and is currently in custody.

The harrowing incident occurred Saturday afternoon in the Union Square area of ​​downtown San Francisco, according to the San Francisco Police Department.

During the course of the investigation it became apparent that one of the injured persons was Pearsall and the other was the alleged burglar… who was injured during the commission of the crime.

San Francisco Mayor London Breed said in a statement: “This afternoon, San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Ricky Pearsall was shot and killed during an attempted robbery in Union Square. The San Francisco Police Department immediately arrived at the scene and arrested the shooter.”

The Niners selected wide receiver Pearsall with the 31st overall pick in April’s NFL draft after he caught 65 passes for 965 yards and four completions during his senior season with the Florida Gators. touchdowns.
