Joakim Richardson
STOCKHOLM, Sweden (CelebrityAccess) — The Country Music Association announced that Go Country Station Manager Joakim Richardson of Sweden has won the 2024 CMA International Country Radio Award.
Ahead of Morgan Wallen’s headlining concert at the Strawberry Arena in Stockholm, Sweden, Richardson (Christer Modig, CEO of Viaplay Radio) joined country artists Larry Fleet and Lauren Watkins accepted the award at the CMA reception.
The award recognizes outstanding achievement by a radio broadcaster or syndicated broadcast journalist serving American country music outside the United States.
Richardson was recognized for her efforts in developing new opportunities for international and domestic country artists in Sweden.
These efforts include initiatives such as ‘Go Country Live’ and ‘Welcome to Sweden’, as well as his role as a distinguished member of the CMA’s Nordic Working Group.
Richardson is the first Swedish broadcaster to win the CMA ICB Award.
The CMA will present the remaining 2024 CMA International Awards throughout the year.
