LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) – The Golden Globes and broadcast partner CBS have announced that comedian and actress Nikki Glaser will serve as host of the 82nd Golden Globe Awards.
“I’m so excited to host the Golden Globes. It’s one of my favorite nights on television and now I get a front-row seat (actually, I think I got to host it on stage),” Glaser said. “The Golden Globes are a huge night not only for TV and movies, but also for comedy. It’s one of the few times in show business that not only allows, but encourages itself to be laughed at affectionately (at least I hope so) . (God I hope so). It’s an exciting yet challenging show because it’s live, unpredictable, and in front of big-name Hollywood stars (who may also be famous for sitting on their recent exes). Next to him, he was very drunk).
“Some of my favorite jokes have come from past Golden Globes opening monologues, when Tina or Amy or Ricky said something that none of us knew we desperately needed to hear,” Glaser added. “I just hope to continue this time-honored tradition (which may also get me canceled). It truly is a dream job. Plus, I no longer have to pay for every TV show I’ve watched in the past year. Shows and movies are guilty of making it all worth it (Below Deck: Sailing Season 4 is going to be nominated, right?).
“Nikki Glaser brings freshness and unparalleled candor to her comedy and the Golden Globes,” said Jay Penske, chairman and CEO of Dick Clark Productions and Penske Media. “Her unapologetic style makes her an obvious and compelling choice to host this year’s event. We hope this may be the first of many Golden Globes where Nikki will surprise and delight CBS and audiences around the world. One.
The 82nd Annual Golden Globe Awards will take place on Sunday, January 5, 2025, and will air live on CBS Television Network and Paramount+ (via SHOWTIME subscribers on Paramount+ + live and on demand, or on demand on Paramount+ Essential) for subscribers the day after the special airs).
