“I have a brand new album, and I’m as passionate as I was at that show 20 years ago,” said the singer, who Esquire called “consistent but unpredictable” and Rolling Stone called “the country’s most ambitious.” The woman who is a vigorous artist said this. From the stage, plus the background, “I love honky-tonks. That’s how I grew up. It’s in my DNA.”
The album, which will be available for retail and streaming via Republic Records on September 13, pays homage to Lambert’s home state of Texas.
