Earlier this week, Samantha Cope filed for divorce from Joey Lawrence , marking the third failed marriage in the actor’s adult life.
Citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the couple’s split after two years of marriage, Kopp is seeking full custody of the couple’s 19-month-old daughter Dylan … while allowing Lawrence visitation at his or her discretion.
Meanwhile, according to various sources, Koepp believes that her marriage failed because Lawrence was having an affair with Alves, his co-star in the movie “Socked for Christmas.”
Now, Alves has spoken out about the accusations.
“First of all, I want to make it clear that there was no sexual relationship between Joey and I while we were on set filming Socked in for Christmas,” Alves wrote on Instagram.
“Our relationship is a meaningful friendship that developed naturally due to the many similarities in our personal circumstances.”
Alves went on to say that she was “immediately struck by his kindness, warmth and genuine character” and that the actors found “common ground in our shared experiences” which became the “foundation of their strong, supportive friendship” Us sources of strength for both sides.
However, she insisted there was nothing romantic about their relationship.
Alves added that what she called “the context of these allegations” was that she and her ex-husband Edward Ryder had been estranged since January 2023 and had “been living in separate rooms since then.”
She continued:
“Our marriage has been struggling for some time and separation was a necessary step for both of us.
“I have always valued my privacy, and it is extremely painful to have such a personal matter come into public view. It is not only hurtful to me, but also hurtful to Joey, who has been unfairly dragged into this situation. “
Alves said she even filed for a temporary restraining order against Ryder, summarizing in her post:
I ask for understanding and respect for our privacy as we navigate these difficult circumstances.
This is an extremely personal matter that I never intended to make public, and I hope this clarification will help end speculation and allow Joey and myself to move forward without further interference.
