SYDNEY, N.S. (CelebrityAccess) — Organizers of the South by Southwest (SXSW®) conference and festival have announced that the brand will return to Sydney for a second year, October 14-20, 2024.
SXSW Sydney is the official venue for Asia Pacific’s iconic creative conference, with more than 1,000 world-class speakers covering today’s most timely and relevant topics, as well as more than 60 technology exhibitors and more than 200 attendees from over 15 countries. Artists, more than 120 competitions are expected in 2024 from more than 30 countries, and more than 75 screenings in 5 cinemas.
Speakers announced for SXSW Sydney 2024 include Chance the Rapper (celebrating 50 years of hip-hop), Australian-American actress and filmmaker Nicole Kidman, Black Mirror creator and Co-series producer Charlie Booker, futurist and artificial intelligence expert Amy Webb and Accenture Song CEO David Droga, for the Australian premiere of Saltburn.
Previously announced speakers include New York Times bestselling author of “Stolen Focus” Johann Hari, human rights lawyer Jennifer Robinson, Australian astronaut Katherine Bennell-Pegg Pegg), world-renowned futurist Ryan Patel, TikTok global head of business marketing Sofia Hernandez, trend curator and founder non-obvious Rohit Bhargava, Twitch chief executive CEO Dan Clancy, Google DeepMind researcher Clare Bycroft, Colossal CEO Ben Lamm, Australian actor Luke Hemsworth, Razer co-founder and CEO Min-Liang Tan, Yosemite founder Reed Jobs, LuckyChap co-founder Josey McNamara, WME Global Tour Supervisor Lucy Dickins, among others.
In terms of festivals and showcases, SXSW will feature more than 135 artists from 13 countries so far, including British pop superstar Jorja Smith, Baceprot (the first Indonesian band to perform at the prestigious Glastonbury Festival) band), with more artists to be announced soon.
